3. Websites and Open Documents

Once websites and open documents are successfully imported into the cybaLOUNGE platform, they become persistant objects.

There is a tutorial on HOW TO: Integrate Websites available.

3.1 Integration of Websites and Modifications

You can integrate websites very easy into the cybaLOUNGE platform, if you are allowed to do so. The integration works via drag-and-drop by clicking on the small symbol in your browser head line and dragging it directly into the cybaLOUNGE window. The website appears in the location you are currently in and you can directly interact in the “HTML-Viewer” window with it, like with a different browser window, if you click on it.

To modify the position, size, etc. of the displayed website, you have to click on the building tool or “Location Editor” in the bottom menu bar. The placement of objects is performed in three steps: rotation, position, scale. This process is passed through using trail-and-error. Numbers can also be entered as negative numbers, just add a ”-” in front of the number.

1) Rotation In the “Location Editor”-menu choose “Attributes” → “Rotation” → “Rotate Y” for an horizontal rotation. Use degrees to rotate the object.

2) Position In the “Location Editor”-menu choose “Attributes” → “Position” → “PosX/Y/Z” for the coordinates.

3) Scale In the “Location Editor”-menu choose “Attributes” → “Scale” → “ScaleX/Y/Z” for scaling the object.

To finalize your actions, please click again on the building tool or “Location Editor” in the bottom menu bar, to save your changes.

3.2 Integration of Open Documents

To integrate an open document you need an account of an organization like Google Docs, that provides online hosted documents.

You can integrate open documents like websites by drag-and-drop, but you have release them at first, if you want other people to work on them, too. The process of releasing documents is carried out in the respective documents themselves. The next step is to drag-and-drop the document into the location, like described in 3.1.

3.3. Deletion of Websites and Open Documents

If you want to delete websites and open documents, look up chapter “7. Share and Delete Files”.
